The practice specialises in the development and delivery of innovative approaches to the creation of better places. Strategy and design work is undertaken across scales and professional disciplines with a focus on the integration of design and planning practice.
Strategies and designs are developed through a methodology that focusses on the specifics of a place, with a ‘one size fits all’ approach actively avoided. This is consistent with the belief that the best places are created by a clear vision drawn from a particular place and its people.
The consultancy operates on collaborative business model that actively seeks and nurtures close working relations with both clients and like-minded specialists. In this regard we actively seek quality over quantity in our project work and partnerships.
Whilst remaining abreast of “best practice” techniques and outcomes, the aim of our work is to create “better practice” through a commitment to the principle of continual improvement. Research and development is undertaken through both project work and evaluation, and active engagement with universities and government policy makers.
The practice is committed to a rigorous understanding of sustainability, with a particular focus on the challenge of addressing social and cultural aspects at the precinct, neighbourhood and city scale.
